Fellowship and Service
The St. Mark’s Community loves to gather and enjoy each others’ fellowship and friendship.
We look forward to resuming these activities when social distancing is no longer necessary.

All Saints Day Breakfast
The Altar Guild prepares the altar and sanctuary at St. Marks. This includes caring for the vestments, altar linen, service implements, altar flowers, and baking bread for Eucharistic services.
The Martha Guild
- Provides the opportunity to discuss contemporary Christian and parish issues.
- Participates in service projects for the church.
- Arranges for luncheons for Clergy Day and other events at St. Mark’s.
- *Our informal meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month, usually around a pot-luck lunch.
We welcome all women of the parish and newcomers are encouraged to attend.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry
- This ministry fulfills our desire to reach out to others. As members gather to knit, crochet, wind yarns, repair dropped stitches, laugh, and drink tea, they enjoy each other’s company.
- Our shawls are filled with love and prayers to provide comfort during illness or grief, as well as for times of joy and celebration.
- Shawls are blessed before they are given, often as part of a worship service. The group has blessed over three dozen shawls since it began.
- *The group meets every other week at the church on Tuesdays from 1- 2:30 p.m., and members continue to work on their shawls at home.

The Quilters
- We welcome quilters and those who want to learn this wonderful skill. Join us even if you are not a member of St. Mark’s.
- We make small quilts for children being baptized and quilts for special events.
- *We meet every other Tuesday morning to craft quilts for the Christmas Fair and for other fund-raisers of the church.
Liturgical Lay Ministries include licensed lay readers, chalice bearers, lectors, and lay eucharistic ministers serve the parish at worship or by taking communion to shut-ins. Cathie Kimball is our Coordinator of Pastoral Care.
Office Volunteers take turns covering the church office during the hours when the church staff is not available. This dedicated group handles the phone, greets visitors and does other needed tasks as requested.
The Church Fair: on the first Saturday in December we transform the church building into a yuletide bazaar that offers foods, crafts, books, decorative items, and a silent auction. Hundreds of Waterville-area residents do their Christmas shopping and enjoy a homemade lunch in a festive and friendly setting. We encourage all members of the parish to join this parish-wide project.
The St. Mark’s Garden committee tends to the grounds of the church, plantings and maintenance of our garden. We use the flowers to decorate the sanctuary and altar during the summer months.
